Analysis of the USCG Ballast Water Management (BWM) Extension Program
Overview
The USCG has recently modified its policy with regards to the granting of extended compliance dates for Ballast Water management systems. Analysis and information on these changes have been kindly provided by the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) as well as a USCG document on Highlights and Tips for Application - Extended Compliance Dates under USCG Ballast Water Management regulations.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has recently modified its policy with regards to granting extended compliance dates for Ballast Water management systems through its USCG Marine Safety Information Bulletin, OES-MSIB Number 003/17.
The following provides analysis of these changes, as well as an USCG document on "Highlights and Tips for Application - Extended Compliance Dates under USCG Ballast Water Management regulations".
