Chinese regulators have tightened its domestic emission control area regulation (DECA) which came into force on 1 January 2019.
The best performing port, in BIMCO’s Dry Bulk Terminals Vetting Report 2018, is Szczecin in Poland. The report collected input from 144 ships covering 381 terminals. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has decided to prohibit the use of open-loop exhaust gas cleaning systems within its port limits, as of 1 January 2020. MPA chief executive, Andrew Tan, announced the new regulation, which is already part of current legislation, in his opening address at the Singapore Registry of Ships Forum.
