California has amended regulation in section 2298.5 in Article 4.8 of Title 2, Division 3 of Chapter 1 of the California Code of Regulations. The regulatory changes become effective on 1 January 2021. It changes the way ships should submit information through the Marine Invasive Species Program Annual Vessel Reporting Form.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on 1st December urging all nations to designate seafarers as key workers and implement the crew change protocols established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
A group of shipping and seafarer organisations have made a collection of flyers, pictures and posters for the coming holiday months. The Australia Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) updates the temporary arrangements during COVID-19 relating to the maximum period of shipboard service allowed for seafarers under the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC,2006).
The Singapore Maritime Port Authority issued revised crew change requirements on 9 November in the form of PMA circular 42. BIMCO gives a short summary of these requirements.
