The Chinese government has vowed to put an end to the scrapping of ships not carrying a Chinese flag.
The Chinese Ministry of Transport has announced new regulations requiring all ships imported for domestic use, and Chinese flagged ships for international use, to be compliant with IMO Tier II emissions standards from 1 September 2018, in a bid to cut NOx emissions from diesel engines.

A reminder to all members calling at areas considered AGM high risk to be aware of the AGM requirements issued by various governments to prevent entry of AGM into their countries. ** ASIAN GYPSY MOTH IS NOW KNOWN AS FLIGHTED SPONGY MOTH COMPLEX ** Not all countries have introduced the new name yet, but BIMCO has decided to standardise on Flighted Spongy Moth Complex, abbreviated to FSMC.

China Customs issued its Order (No.56) back in 21st November 2017 with a view to regulate all inbound/outbound manifest from 1st June 2018. Any violation in manifest filing may cause vessel’s delay as well as carrier’s penalty according to the “The Implementation Ordinance of Administrative Penalty of the Customs of the People's Republic of China”.
