The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) has launched a survey to better understand some of the corruption risks faced by seafarers to make MACN able to better focus its future efforts.
The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) has launched a survey to better understand some of the corruption risks faced by seafarers. The survey aims to map out the risks of corrupt demands (i.e. demands for bribes or facilitation payments) faced during what is referred to as a seafaring cycle (education, recruitment, while on board, etc.). With this survey, MACN is aiming at obtaining a better understanding of the key stages in the lives of seafarers that are most vulnerable to corruption which, in turn, will make MACN able to better focus its future efforts.
BIMCO generally supports MACN’s overall endeavours to fight corruption and is therefore making the survey available so that members can share it with their employees for their possible response. All data is collected anonymously and handled confidentially by MACN.
The survey is available from the link below and MACN would appreciate your feedback preferably by 15 November.
