17 Mar Ukraine has issued guidelines for laying up vessels

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the resultant deterioration of the security situation in Ukrainian ports and anchorages which has left several ships stranded, the Ukrainian Maritime Administration has issued guidelines for hot- and cold lay-up of vessels.

The guidelines include suggestions on e.g., the design of lay-up procedures, the factors to take into consideration when evaluating the safety of layup locations, considerations regarding manning, mooring, security/safety/protection/environment, inspections, and maintenance.
