Description

Black with a distinctive odour, made from tar that is produced during the coking of coal. It is called as such as it is extruded in the form of a pencil shape to make handling easier. Cargo softens between 40 degrees C to 50 degrees C. Melting point: 105 degrees C to 107 degrees C. Bulk density: 500-800 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: dark-brown to black residue from the distillation of coal tar that is produced during the coking of coal. Depending on the degree of distillation, it could appear from a sticky mass to a brittle solid.
