European Sustainable Shipping Forum(ESSF) subgroup on MRV has completed its work and the results are forwarded for final endorsement by the ESSF Plenary before publication. Draft guidelines on different subjects that will help you in the preparing and making EU MRV Management Plans for individual ships are provided.
Last week on its 9th meeting the ESSF subgroup on MRV regulation finalised their set of guidance on different MRV subjects and forwarded them for final approval. It’s the ambition to have ESSF endorsement by the end of June this year and then have all the guidance and best practices published by the European Committee during late summer.
This is really late, as we all are aware of the obligation for shipowners to provide Monitoring Plans for ships visiting EEA ports in 2018 through verifiers with a deadline 31 August 2017.
In order to facilitate a timely delivery of Monitoring Plans the draft guidance’s is attached – this could be helpful for the ongoing work in making Monitoring Plans for the individual ships concerned. You must note that the different guidance’s are attached in their final daft, as agreed by the subgroup and they can be changed by the ESSF Plenary, although it’s very unusual for the plenary overrule a subgroup’s recommendation.
It’s recommended that you use the below guidelines in your work.
